Liverpool vs Olympique Lyonnais Match preview

Liverpool ended their pre-season schedule on a high as they came from behind to beat Lyon 3-1 in Geneva.
The Reds ended a four-game winless run to earn a timely confidence boost ahead of their Community Shield meeting with Manchester City this weekend.
Perhaps more importantly, Mohamed Salah, Alisson Becker and Roberto Firmino picked up their first minutes since returning from extended breaks necessitated by summer tournaments.
Xherdan Shaqiri and Naby Keita also provided a boost for Jurgen Klopp in featuring having recently recovered from calf and adductor injuries respectively.
While results are not the be all and end all as the players continue to be loaded with a heavy training schedule on top of game time, many will be eager to see a noticeable improvement in performance and application against the Ligue 1 outfit.
The squad has been injected with much-needed reinforcements in the shape of some familiar faces, and each could be handed some valuable game time on Wednesday evening.
Liverpool takes on Olympique Lyonnais in their upcoming club friendlies ahead of their Community Shield match against Manchester City on August 4. Despite their successful 2018-19 season, the Jurgen Klopp side has failed to impress their fans during the pre-season. They haven’t won a single pre-season fixture and will look to end the drought when they take on Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyonnais on Wednesday evening.
Liverpool heads to the fixture on the back of a single win of their last five fixtures in all competitions. Meanwhile, Olympique Lyonnais has won three of their last five.
